Themes, Information and Rules

10 Set Themes:
Note: Some themes have the word or meaning that you have the option to pick one of the themes in that option.        

1. Costume Porn or landscape/background scenary
In this theme you will showcase the costume that you are most envious/wish to showcase (really make sure to show the costume) or showcase the landscape/background that most captures your eyes. Here are some examples:

2. Tiny text or large text or Favorite Font
In this you have the option to pick to use tiny text, or large text or any favorite font that you generally use. Here are some examples:

3. Provided Texture
Seeing how there are 10 participants, I decided to provide 10 different textures. You must incorporate at least one of the following texture(or more):

4.Faceless or Looking Down or No Eyes
Where the subject is either faceless or looking down or cropping out the eyes. Here are some examples:

5. Hair Porn
In this the prominent feature/focus is the hair of the character. Here are some examples:

6. Enemy/ Villain and Obscure Cropping or Extreme Negative Space/Negative Space or Center Cropping

In this you will focus on cropping techniques (whether it be obscure cropping, extreme negative space/negative space or center cropping and feature enemy/villain that the fandom has. Here are some examples:

7. Friends + Color Palette or Color Fill Layers or Unnatural Coloring OR split screen with two characters
In this you can icon friends that are seen in the fandom and use color palette technique or color fill layers or have any unnatural coloring OR you can icon a split screen with two characters. Explanation of color fill layers can be found here. Here are some examples:

8. Fake Background or Geometric Shapes
In this one you use a fake background or geometric shapes. Here are some examples:

9. Pastel or Vibrant Colors
In this theme you must use pastel or vibrant colors. Here are some examples:

10. Alternative Universe

In this one you are allowed to incorporate only symbols from popular fandoms (ex: the Tardis, insignia  from the  from game of thrones, the Impala from supernatural, etc)* or casting your characters into different shows (Teen Wolf, Marvel, etc) or you can just icon an alternative universe/headcanon you might have (Ex: Wishing one of your main character marrying or dating someone else in that fandom).

*Ex: I wish this character was a companion from doctor who , therefore you can use that character from your unappreciated fandom and the Tardis together.

Artistic Choice:

You are welcome to icon up to 5 to 10 icons for this. You can use your heart’s desire to complete this task and you can always use for inspiration the other themes that were not used:

Favorite character in this fandom, profile cropping, one true pairing, summer colors, character you like that the fandom doesn’t, favorite emotional scene or plot twist, out of the box, silhouette, duo, minor character, opposites (of coloring, position, contrast, etc), gradient coloring (one side has different color of the opposite one), decorative texture, three is a company (three people on the icon), border, sense (sight, taste, etc), facial expression, full body, rotate, levels, rainbow colors, cold, circle, blend, rotatation/rotate, monochrome, flowers, icon made in 5 steps, monotone, two people, wide crop, simplistic, more than one, two colors, female, male, frame, black and white, not 100*100 px, and any other choice you wish to do.

Rules and Information:

Rules:

1. You have to create between 15 and 20 icons.


2. You must use unappreciated fandoms (defined below).


3. You may use any caps, provided from a screncap gallery, livejournal screencap gallery, or tumblr/deviantart screencap gallery.


4. Most important rule: Have fun!

Information about the icon battle: The icon battle will be between 15 to 20 icons. Caps are restricted in the sense that the caps must come from a screencap gallery, livejournal screencap gallery, or tumblr/deviantart screencap gallery. Things you have free reign over: the choice of fandoms (there are exceptions to that which will be discussed below under the defintion of popular fandoms), the amount of artistic free-choices to choose from, the set themes may be anywhere between 10 to 12 icons (depending on sign ups). and you can choose to complete between 15 to 20 icons. The battle will probably end around August 7.

Defintion of Underappreciated fandoms: as any fandom that could have been popular years ago but isn't seen anymore in the iconing community. Some of these fandoms may have icontests that is dedicated to them but don't often see these icons made for anymore or rarely made for.

Suggested Underappreciated fandoms: Psych, Hiraku No Go, Murder She Wrote, Hey Arnold, Young Justice, Ugly Betty, Firefly, King Arthur, The Princess Bride, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Detective Conan, Chronicles of Narnia, Ace Attorney, Fushigi Yuugi, Inception, Dark Angel, Charmed, Farscape, Series of Unfortunate Events, Magic School Bus, Arthur, Lord of the Rings, and most of the tags found at fandom_of_one.

Defintion of fandoms: any tv-show, anime/manga, movies, and animation can be used. (Exception: stock and popular fandoms).

Definition of popular fandoms: Supernatural, Doctor Who, ; Disney, Marvel, Once Upon a Time, Game of Thrones, and Teen Wolf.

You can icon different fandoms but if you want to do icon only one fandom you can as well.

You have the choice to pick which ever fandom you want as long as the fandoms aren't from popular fandoms.

Probably not - even if the extension were to be two weeks like we said could be possible, I'd still only have just gotten back from my holiday and probably wouldn't be able to churn out anything decent in time.
